At the Annual Law Society Conference last week, Rory McShane, President of the Law Society of Northern Ireland sparked a bidding war.
Mr McShane came out victorious, winning the most competitive bid of the evening. Under the hammer was an exclusive pair of Barclays Championship tickets.
Football un-enthusiast, Basil Preuveneers won the top prize in the evening’s raffle, and decided to auction the tickets to raise money for St Christopher’s Hospice, Sydenham.
Mr McShane paid £400 for the tickets to see Manchester United v Aston Villa, and Barclays Corporate have agreed to double the amount, taking it to a staggering £800!
Philip Lewis, Relationship Manager at Barclays Bank Professional Services Team, pictured above on the right with the President, said: “Thanks to Basil’s donation of the tickets, Rory’s very generous bid and Barclays contribution, St Christopher’s Hospice are £800 better off – What a hat-trick!”
