Is the consumer always right? “Or is the raft of consumer legislation taking us the wrong way” asks Brian Binley MP and chairman of the Conservative Parliamentary Enterprise Group
Consumer politics … people no longer think of themselves as life-long Labour or Conservative supporters – so asserted Brian Binley MP for Northampton south as he addressed representatives of small business owners over breakfast at the House of Commons in early October. The meeting, kindly sponsored by Professional Contractors Group, was part of The Genesis Initiative; the business senate for enterprise, provided an opportunity to hear what our politicians are doing to support and assist the business sector.

Mr Binley is heading up the ‘Commission into Small Shops’; which is looking into planning, crime, parking & transportation and community. He invited guests to email him binleyb@parliament.uk with their views on how to balance the needs of modern life – i.e. driving to airy spacious out of town shopping malls with free parking, against supporting local shops and town centres.
On the topic of town centres and business; it is no coincidence that Preuveneers LLP have located their company and commercial department in, what a BBC report describes as, one of the many booming “New Towns”. Crawley is situated close to Gatwick, the M25 and 40 minutes outside of London, we are not the only ones taking advantage of the excellent location; Virgin, Barclaycard and GalxoSmithKline Beecham are among our Crawley-based neighbours.
Using our SmartLegalMove 24/7 online access technology, we can service not only businesses nearby our offices in The Boulevard Crawley, but internationally too. |
